Frequently Asked Questions:
If you cannot find the answer to your question, please email email@example.com.
What forms of payment do you accept?
The main forms of payment we accept are PayPal, Barclays Pingit and Direct Online Bank Payments. We are able to accept other methods of payment, but these will need to be discussed with the client first.
Who will be proofreading my document?
Your document will be proofread by an experienced and qualified proofreader who has knowledge of your subject area and the writing style required.
Will you refuse to proofread my work if the English is very bad?
Rarely will we refuse to proofread work because the English is really bad. As a proofreading service specifically for international students, foreign businesses and other non-native speakers, we are more prepared than other proofreaders and companies to proofread work in which the written English is very poor. However, if the English is very bad, it may take us a long time to work on it and therefore cost the client much more; in such cases, the client may prefer to try and re-write it themselves before having it proofread.
In what circumstances do you offer face-to-face consultations?
We offer face-to-face consultations to clients who are based in Reading or London. A face-to-face consultation will only be arranged if we find a location where both the client and the proofreader are happy to meet (e.g. cafés, meeting points on the university campus, and communal areas in halls of residence).
My assignment is due in less than 24 Hours! Can you finish and return it to me before my deadline?
You will have to submit your work for our Express Proofreading service. We will check to see if it is possible to proofread your document properly before the deadline that you have given us. In most cases we have been able to; however, if we believe that we may not be able to complete the work properly in time, we will let you know ASAP and discuss other options with you.
As a student, I don't have much income. Will I be able to afford your proofreading services?
We offer the lowest rates possible while still ensuring that we have charged enough to proofread your document to our highest standards. Some students still struggle to afford proofreading, especially for documents that are long, require substantial editing and/or need to be returned soon. To help these students, we offer discounts to members of various student organisations (e.g. ISNUK) and have an Introduce a Friend scheme.
My written English isn't very good. If you improve my written English, will it no longer look like my own work? Will it be obvious that I got a lot of help?
If the quality of a client's written English is quite poor, we will contact that client to discuss whether they would like us to improve their written English up to a very high professional/academic level or to a lower level that is more appropriate for them.
Is this cheating? Is this ghost writing? Will you write my work for me? Is this against university policy?
Universities are mostly concerned about students receiving help with the academic content of their work, including paying to have entire essays and dissertations written for them (ghost writing). We do not help any clients with the academic content of their work. Proofread My English simply helps international students and other non-natives with their written English. Different universities have different policies with regards to proofreading. If you are unsure about whether you are allowed to use a proofreader, we suggest that you check your own university's policies.
